Brad Hicks is an American Anchor. He is a Long-time WITI-TV (Channel 6), anchor. In March 2019, WITI-TV president and general manager Chuck Steinmetz confirmed reports that brad is no longer with Milwaukee’s Fox television affiliate. He joined the station in 2004.
After much deliberation and 30 years of anchoring newscasts, Brad decided to step away and focus on his family. This was due to the difficult health-challenged Brad’s brother and parents in California all face. Brad left Fox 6 to help care for his family members.

When Brad got there, he was already burned out on it. The geography professors thought what they were doing was important, but it’s not important, it’s just interesting.

As many people may know, Brad’s brother and parents in California all face difficult health challenges. We at FOX 6 have known for some time that Brad may need to leave us to help care for these family members. Brad feels that now is the time. Brad has made many contributions to FOX 6 in his over 15 years here. We will miss him and wish him the best.”
Brad took over the 6 and 9 p.m. anchor slots at WITI in late 2004. Since then, he’s won a number of regional Emmys and other awards, including the Edward R. Murrow Award for a report on a family of child molesters, the Sigma Delta Chi Award for an in-depth series on heroin in the suburbs, awards from NBC News, the U.S. Coast Guard and the National Water Safety Congress for a special on the dangers of low-head dams, as well as multiple Emmy Awards and awards from The Associated Press.
During his career, he was able to help local charities make the world a better place. Since he moved to Milwaukee, he helped the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, the David M. Sherman Cancer Center, Vince Lombardi Charitable Funds, Goodwill’s Ability Connection, and the ALS Association of Wisconsin.
He was invited to speak at the United Nations about ALS in 2014. He serves on the ALS Leadership Team, helped develop an annual fundraiser at Miller Park, and has spearheaded numerous awareness campaigns both on and off-air. In the same year, the ALS Association honored him with the Rebecca Bell Barbi Award for his work on behalf of this horrendous disease.
