Craig Stevens is an American journalist at WSVN 7News Miami working as an anchor. He co-anchors 5-6-10-11 PM with Belkys Nerey. Born in Cape Cod’s Falmouth, Mass.
Stevens tasked WSVN with developing links between law implementation bodies and the networks they service in 2016. He sponsored the “Expectation and Healing” municipal event with Congress, state, and neighborhood pioneers, and law enforcement.
He comes from Falmouth, Massachusetts on Cape Cod and graduated from The American University in Washington, D.C. in 1990. Parker, Craig’s black lab, resides in Greater Miami.

At 7NEWS, Stevens has covered a variety of stories, including “Andrew,” the Oklahoma City bombing, neighborhood decisions, and the controversial 2000 presidential election from Austin, Texas.
He covered the murder of Gianni Versace, the manhunt for Andrew Cunanan, Pope John Paul II’s visits to Cuba and the U.S., JFK Jr.’s death, the Elian Gonzalez adventure, and Fidel Castro’s UN visit. In 2015, he announced the U.S. Embassy’s flag-raising and Pope Francis’ visit from Cuba.
Craig has also secured 7NEWS coverage of Jean-Bertrand Aristide’s return to Haiti, the crash of “Valujet” flight 592, the shootdown of two “Siblings to the Rescue” planes, the 9/11 attacks, the start of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, Castro’s transfer of power to his brother, and President Obama’s 2016 state visit to Havana.
He secured back-to-back long durations of Castro’s death and 2018’s Parkland school shooting. Recently, he helped contain the Covid epidemic in South Florida.
Craig delivered 2020 political race interviews with Trump, Biden, and Harris to South Florida. Craig and Belkys secured WSVN’s official political race night broadcast for the seventh time in 2020.
Stevens began his career at NBC NEWS in 1987. By 1988’s presidential campaign night, he was a sophomore working all day in the NBC newsroom. He worked as a creative partner on “NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw,” “Today,” and “Meet the Press.”
From 1990 until 1992, he was a columnist and substitute anchor at WBBH-TV, the NBC affiliate in Fort Myers. Stevens left us briefly in 1997 to anchor end-of-week news at NBC partner WHDH in Boston, but his work there was emphasized here. He returned to WSVN in 1999, securing the end-of-week and 5:30 and 6:30 reports before May 2001.
Craig is active with many organizations. He’s a member of the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, where he mentors young TV professionals in the southeast.
He’s also a National Trustee. He marshaled the Wilton Manors Stonewall Street Festival and Parade in 2003. He oversaw the annual AIDS Walk Miami, which generates money for HIV awareness, prevention, testing, and treatment in South Florida.

“Florida Monthly” selected Craig “Best Local TV News Anchor” in September 2005. In 2003, the Broward/Palm Beach “New Times” honored Stevens. In 2006, Miami Beach gave him a key for his generous efforts.
