Ted Haggard Church
In October 2009, the Colorado Springs Independent released the first extended interview with Haggard that was to appear in the secular press following the incident that occurred in 2006. During the course of a three and a half hour conversation, the former pastor discussed the scandal, his suicidal thoughts, his agreement to never return to New Life or the state of Colorado, and the possibility of forming a new church in Colorado Springs.
“‘Back in the ancient days,’ he explained, ‘when anyone got into difficulty, all they needed to do was relocate 40 or 50 miles or even a hundred miles, and they could start over.’ No longer, however. Which of the following is not one of the reasons why we had to go home? So I had to continue telling this story from this point forth.”
On November 4, 2009, he announced his intention to begin holding public prayer meetings in his home in Colorado Springs through a message that he posted on his Twitter account. The first prayer meeting that Haggard hosted in his shed took place on December 7th. On June 6, 2010, Haggard welcomed members of the St. James Church into his home for the first time.

Ted Haggard Now
After suffering a blow to his credibility and losing the opportunity to continue his ministerial career, Haggard was forced to start over and make a new life for himself in the world of the secular. According to his personal website, it appears that the murky world of life insurance sales is the one that he has chosen to pursue as a career.
His business model is eerily similar to another specific business practice that has a distinct triangular shape as well as other such get-rich-quick scams that are available out there on the internet, proving once and for all that life in the church really does give you an education in separating the gullible from their money and that life in the church does not make people heterosexual.
In 2012, both Haggard and his wife, who is a woman, made an appearance on the reality television series Celebrity Wife Swap.
In reference to that wife, Haggard has admitted that if he were 21 years old in today’s society, he would consider himself to be bisexual. During the same interview, he mentioned that he is completely content engaging in sexual activity with his wife.
