Tom Wills is a well-known journalist in the United States who currently serves as a news anchor for WJXT4 News. Wills began his career at Channel 4 in 1975, and for the past four decades, he has worked to co-secure Jacksonville’s most noteworthy appraised evening reports.

Tom worked as a correspondent at WTOP radio and WTOP-TV in Washington, DC, before moving to Jacksonville. During his time there, Tom reported on a variety of events, including the riots that occurred after the death of Martin Luther King, the memorial service for Bobby Kennedy, the Supreme Court hearing on the Pentagon Papers, the break-in at Watergate, and the departure of President Richard Nixon from office.
In addition to this, he held a part-time teaching position at American University, where he instructed students in news detailing. Since he started working at WJXT, Tom has had the privilege of not only talking to but also meeting each president that has been in office since Jimmy Carter.
“During the eleven years that I lived in and worked in the nation’s capital, the day that I was assigned to stake out the White House theater during the Six-Day War in 1967 in the event that LBJ chose to come there to say something was the only time that I ever got closer to a president than I was on that particular day.

Tom, much like the other transmission writers, has a few minutes of his past that he would rather forget. But he has to remember them. The first incident took place while he was mooring the end-of-the-week news while dressed in brilliant yellow from head to toe.
“At the time, I didn’t think it was humiliating; however, when I think back on it, I realize that it was,” he said. On May 12, 2015, the station honored its 40th commemoration with WJXT with 60 minutes, an ideal time extraordinary, and Mayor Alvin Brown came to the station to broadcast Tom Wills Day in Jacksonville. This event took place in Jacksonville. In March of 2018, the Florida Associated Press Broadcasters honored Tom by bestowing upon him their Legacy Award.
