During her time as a student, she completed an internship as the entertainment segment intern at KFMB-TV, the San Diego station of CBS. There, she wrote and produced news articles and conducted interviews with Hollywood superstars such as Ben Affleck, Dakota Fanning, and Johnny Knoxville.

She reported on breaking news and real-time traffic conditions from a helicopter for close to seven years during her career. She found great pleasure in capturing aerial footage and watching the sunrise each morning.

She was able to film for the nature documentary miniseries “Great Migrations” that aired on the National Geographic Channel in 2010 as well as “Secrets de la Isla Guadelupe,” which was a finalist in the 2010 Blue Ocean Film Festival.

She eventually relocated to San Luis Obispo, California, where she worked as an anchor for the weekend news and weather, an executive producer, and the newsroom manager for KSBY-TV, which is an NBC affiliate. She also held the position of managing the newsroom during the week. She also worked as a reporter and was a multimedia journalist, meaning that she filmed and edited her own reports.
